Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-07-01 · Last updated: 2026-07-12

Actscribe ("Actscribe", "we", "us") is operated by Jorge Rumoroso, based in Switzerland. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. Who we are

Actscribe is a web application that connects to your Strava account to generate creative titles and descriptions for your activities using AI. We are not affiliated with Strava, Inc.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

  • From Strava: Your athlete ID, name, profile photo, and activity data (titles, descriptions, distance, duration, sport type, GPS route). We access this via the Strava API with your explicit permission.
  • From you directly: Your email address, provided during onboarding. We use this solely to notify you of important updates — new features, improvements, or changes to these terms. We will never use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
  • Generated by you: Preferences and settings you configure in the app, reference locations you save, and any custom instructions you provide.
  • Generated by the service: Your writing style profile (derived from your activity titles), generated titles and descriptions, and a history of autonomously applied titles.

3. How we use your data

  • To generate personalised activity titles and descriptions via the Anthropic Claude AI API
  • To learn your writing style and improve future generations
  • To apply titles and descriptions to your Strava activities on your behalf
  • To provide the reference locations feature
  • To send you important communications about the service (via email)
  • To display in-app announcements about relevant changes or updates

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for third parties, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

4. Description signature

If you enable the optional signature feature in settings, Actscribe will append a short attribution ("✦ Actscribe") to the end of generated descriptions when they are applied to your Strava activities. This feature is off by default and can be disabled at any time.

5. Third parties

We share data with the following third parties, solely to operate the service:

  • Strava, Inc. — to read and update your activities.
  • Anthropic, PBC — your activity data is sent to the Claude API to generate titles and descriptions. Anthropic does not use API data to train models.
  • Supabase, Inc. — our database provider. Data is stored in the EU.
  • Vercel, Inc. — our hosting provider.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my data. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You may also contact us to request deletion.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Swiss nFADP, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you, including your email address
  • Correct inaccurate data (your email can be updated in Settings → Account)
  • Delete your data — available directly in the app, or by contacting us
  • Object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@actscribe.app.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary and does not track you across other websites.

9. Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Strava access tokens are stored encrypted. We do not store your Strava password.

10. Children

Actscribe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email and by updating the date at the top of this page.
